When working with clients on lifestyle changes such as meditating or moving more, it's common to hear "I don't have time". Funny enough though - if I offer quicker, more accessible ways to build the new habit, these same people say "Don't I need to do it longer for this to make a difference?".
If you've read Atomic Habits, you understand the importance of small positive choices throughout the day. These tiny changes can shift your trajectory towards a goal and ripple out into other areas of your life. While I agree that time can be a barrier, I also think it's more the mindset around how you use the time you have.
This is why I absolutely LOVE micro-breaks! Think about 30-second to 5-minute pieces of your day where you can do something that positively impacts your wellness. Anything from intentional breathing to mind management to working on your physical health. You'll keep propelling yourself towards your goals without feeling like there are more things on the to-do list. Plus, your nervous system will benefit from these resets throughout the day AND these breaks will likely lead to you wanting to do more. Win, win, win!

Create Your Personal Micro-Break Strategy
- What is your main wellness goal?
- Write down 3 things you can do to work towards this goal. Keep it achievable within the 30-second to 5-minute window.
- Put these 3 things on a Post-It note on your monitor, make alarms on your phone or write them on your bathroom mirror. Place them around the house or office where you have to see them. When you see it, do it.
If you want more personalized support for your wellness goals, I'd love to work with you!
